Wescottage Music’s beginnings took place many years ago when four siblings started taking piano lessons on their less-than-grandiose keyboard. As the years went by, a piano took the place of the keyboard and each sibling chose a stringed instrument to also pursue. Some stuck with the piano, while others fell in love with and excelled in their stringed instrument. After many hours, days, and months of ear-wrenching squeaks and not-so-lovely practice sessions, the four siblings eventually mastered their instruments and love sharing their music with others.
They have all been trained by professional instructors as well as musicians from the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Their formal musical experience began with the Junior Youth Orchestra and the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra under conductor Dr. Ernest Pereira. All four siblings have continued their musical education at UNC Charlotte by earning a Music Minor and participating in ensembles and various performances.
